A guide to selecting a screen resolution that works with SwiftKit

This guide will assist you in selecting the right screen Resolution for SwiftKit. With the recent updates to RuneScape, there are now quite a few ways to view RuneScape including HD, non HD, full screen and the stretched non full screen. With all these options you might find that SwiftKit isn't looking quite right with the way you choose to play RuneScape.

The guide will list all common screen resolutions and which settings you should have enabled in SwiftKit to get the most out of it.

For a guide on changing your screen resolution, please see this article.

Section 1 - High Detail

  •  1280x800 and higher (Widescreen)
  •  1280x1024 and higher

Section 2 - Low Detail

  •  1024x768

Section 1 - High Detail

800x600
This is a really low resolution, and unless you have problems with you eyes or your computer can't handle higher you should really increase your resolution.

SwiftKit Option: Uncheck Disable Browser Autosizing. (File>Options>Settings)
SwiftKit Option: Check "Hide Right Hand Side Utils" under the RuneScape menu.
F2P: You will need to use "Move Applet Down" option under the RuneScape menu.

1024x768
With this resolution it all depends on if you want to use the bottom internal utilities such as the chat and notepad. If you wish to use these then you will need to do the following...

RuneScape Option:  Set Resizable Window to "Fixed".
SwiftKit Option: Check Disable Browser Autosizing. (File>Options>Settings)

If you don't use the bottom internal utilities and want to take advantage of the stretched RuneScape screen then do the following...

RuneScape Option: Set Resizable Window to "Resizable".
SwiftKit Option: Uncheck Disable Browser Autosizing. (File>Options>Settings)
If you want full windowed mode you can also check "Hide Right Hand Side Utils" under the RuneScape menu.

1280x720 (Widescreen)
This resolution isn't really ideal but it can work to an extent. Basically the bottom internal utilities are out of the question. It would really be a better choice to move up one resolution though.

RuneScape Option: Set Resizable Window to "Resizable".
SwiftKit Option: Uncheck Disable Browser Autosizing. (File>Options>Settings)
If you want full windowed mode you can also check "Hide Right Hand Side Utils" under the RuneScape menu.

For F2P you may need to set your taskbar to auto-hide.

1280x800 and higher (Widescreen)
As far as widescreen monitors go this resolution or higher is what you want to aim for. With this resolution you are able to take advantage of all settings.

1280x1024 and higher
1280x1024 is a great resolution for non widescreen monitors, it's what I personally use and recommend. With this resolution or higher you are able to take advantage of all settings.

1024x768 and Higher
1024x768 is a great resolution if you use Low Detail and are P2P but if you are F2P and want to use the bottom internal utils you may want to look at 1280x1024 or 1280x800 for widescreen.

SwiftKit Option: Check Disable Browser Autosizing. (File>Options>Settings)
F2P: You will notice that when you are on a F2P world and you show the internal utilities, they show on top of the RuneScape applet. There isn't much we can do here, if it really annoys you we suggest increasing your screen resolution to 1280x1024 for normal or 1280x800 for widescreen.

If you prefer the RuneScape applet to be in the middle then you could uncheck the disable browser autosizing option and select "Hide Right Hand Side Utils" from under the RuneScape menu.
