SwiftKit is only for Microsoft Windows, why?

SwiftKit is coded in the Microsoft language of Visual Basic 6. Because of that, it can only run on the Operation System of Windows. Unless we change coding languages, there won't be a native version for Mac or Linux, sadly. If you do use those Operating Systems, you can check out TiKo. It's a wonderful cross-platform web application.

If you are interested in running SwiftKit on Linux using Wine, read this guide.

For any mac users, it may be possible to install it and run it in the Mac OS. All new macs (2008 on forward) have a program called boot camp that comes pre-installed from Apple, meaning you can break you hard drive into 2 partitions, 1 for mac(main one) and one for windows. You can set both for however much room you want to use I believe. From there purchase VMFusion Ware and install it on your Mac and then boot the mac into windows (you read correctly). Install and download SK and then reboot to Mac OS X. From here you should be able to run VMFusion Ware and run SK natively within the Mac OS. I have not personally tried this yet, I will when I get a mac. If you want to try VMFusion, it runs you around $80. Hope this helps someone, or someone try's it and relays the info, I know some mac users that would love SK.

I feel the same, I own a mac.. It's rubbish.. And I don't have boot camp! And I'm not buying it for a free program. Please code it for Mac and Linux =))

I use Ubuntu linux, this is a very good version of linux and I have found that I can do justabout everything that I could do on windows. I have aMSN which is a version of messenger. This works by opening inside a window that is running windows alongside messenger, invisibly. That is, it just works normally and I don't see windows, just see messenger. Theres quite a few people using linux and playing Runescape who would be glad to be able to use Swiftkit, I wonder if the solution applied to messenger could be applied here?

I use a macbook running snow leopard and would like to get this working. You can install wine and a program called wine bottle using the wine setting you can get 99% of the way to installing and running Swiftkit. With this someone may figure out how to make it work
